The Malaysia Action Sports Tournament kicked off last month, with brothers Firdaus and Zainul Marzuki claiming first and second place, respectively, in the street competition. Veteran skateboarder Kieron Brodie secured third place, proving that age is just a number.
Meanwhile, teenage skateboarders Ashman Shukur, Danish Hurairah, Mahathir Daniel, Momo Khan, and Haris Hurairah—all under 17—maintained their positions in the top 10. The older competitors, Faizal Mohd Shahrom and Adlan Anaqi, finished in 9th and 10th place.

WOMEN’S CATEGORY: ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT
The women’s division still has some catching up to do in the open category, needing more exposure and experience to improve their skateboarding skills. While some competitors have shown progress, overall development has been limited since last year’s national competition.
WHY MAST?
MAST participants will compete for ranking points in the National Skateboarding Talent Identification program, with the chance to represent Malaysia at the SEA Games in Thailand at the end of this year.
Winning the first MAST does not guarantee a spot on the Malaysian SEA Games team, as skaters must continue collecting high-ranking points to qualify.
We’ve heard that two more MAST events are scheduled, along with an ASEAN-level championship in Kuala Lumpur just before the SEA Games!
